I am enjoying the HGX1 I purchased in late November very much, it has exceeded my expectations. High quality materials gives the trainer a premium feel
-The versatility of the functional trainer featuring a weight stack makes it easy for both my wife & I to work out together, similar to your demo video. My wife is not big on bumper plates, so having the weight stack was huge. On the other hand, I appreciate the Smith machine for times when I want to isolate body parts on a specific day (legs, for instance). Coupled with the low cable for seated leg extensions & standing leg curls, you can get a complete lower body workout.
-The ability to collapse the unit in the event that I need space is one of the things that initially led me to purchase the trainer & has been a “show stopper” with friends & neighbors who are entertaining home gym setups of their own. When extended, the unit is quite imposing, however, when collapsed, it allows me to move freely around my garage gym on other movements that require extra real estate.
-All in all I feel the value for the money is there. I looked hard at other functional trainers, but this one checked more of the boxes for the immediate needs of both myself and my wife.
